Motto
The motto of the Teachers Association of Cameroon shall be Knowledge, Diligence, Justice.
CODE OF CONDUCT OF THE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION OF CAMEROON (TAC)

Article 43:
The following shall be the procedure to be adopted in dealing with cases of Professional Conduct:-
- Any question as to the professional honour of any member whether it arises upon the personal application of another member or otherwise, stands referred to the Professional Conduct Committee, which shall consider the matter and deal with it. Any applicant has the right of appeal to the Council Executive from the decision of the Professional Conduct Committee; but the decision of the Council Executive shall be final and conclusive. The Professional Conduct Committee shall meet at such times and places as may be considered necessary. Three of the five members of the Professional Conduct Committee shall form a quorum. After considering any matter in question, and hearing of any members or persons it may consider necessary shall make a recommendation as to the manner in which the matter shall be dealt with, and such recommendation shall be submitted to the Council Executive to be dealt with as the latter may decide. The National Executive Council shall take decisions when necessary and report to the General Assembly.
- Any member found guilty of a breach or breaches of Professional Honour shall be liable to be warned, censured, suspended or expelled from the Association or otherwise penalized.
- Any member of the Association against whom any breach of Professional Honour is alleged, or whose conduct is under investigation, shall not effectively resign his membership of the Association until after the decision of the Professional Conduct Committee or the Council Executive has been communicated to him. In the event of any member purporting to resign before the decision is communicated to him, he shall upon applying for readmission to the Association, through any affiliated Branch, carry out any order or decision or direction embodied in the decision of the Professional Conduct Committee or the Council Executive and pay any sum which may have been ordered to be paid by him, and also all subscriptions which have fallen due had he remained since the date of the last payment of subscription by him, before he may be re-admitted and granted membership of the Association. All Branch Secretaries shall be notified of all such members concerned.
Article 44:
The Professional Conduct Committee with the confirmation of the Council Executive shall determine what acts are liable to cause a breach or breaches of Professional Conduct or Honour, such acts shall be thought of by the Professional Conduct committee, endorsed by the Council Executive to have been calculated to injure or cause harm to the Professional Honour or bring discredit on such a teacher himself, to his school, the Association or the Profession; to give statement in newspapers or otherwise damaging personalities, or publish any statement before his learners or learners’ parents prejudicial to the interest of any fellow teacher, to refuse to abide by any decision taken by the Professional Conduct Committee concerning such a teacher.
The list of unprofessional acts given hereof shall not be regarded as exhaustive, for the determination of such is entirely at the absolute discretion of the Council Executive and the Professional Conduct Committee.
